Kritika Kamra Launches Tarang Chanderi Collection on National Handloom Day

Kritika Kamra is an actress in India who also started a clothing brand called Cinnabar.

Her brand makes saris, a traditional long piece of cloth that women wrap and wear.

The saris are woven by hand by skilled workers in a town called Chanderi.

On National Handloom Day, her brand shared a new party collection called Tarang.

These saris are made for weddings and festivals and are meant to last a lifetime.

Kritika wants people to wear them often so the weavers, many of whom are women, can earn a good living.

The name Cinnabar comes from a red mineral, because her mother's name, Kumkum, means a red powder used in Indian traditions.

For her own wedding in March, she wore a red Chanderi sari made by the weavers and designed by her mother.

She hopes this helps people love and keep handloom crafts alive.
