IIM Indore, Indian Army Collaborate on AI for National Security
A big business school in India called IIM Indore and the Indian Army decided to work together.
They held a special event called Rashtriya Kartavya 2.0.
The event was about using artificial intelligence, or AI, to help keep the country safe.
AI is when computers learn to do smart things, like helping with planning and decision-making.
Leaders from the school and the Army opened the event together.
They talked about how the Army and schools can learn from each other.
They discussed moving supplies, managing traffic, and keeping armoured vehicles healthy.
The school's director said people should always stay in charge of AI and use it fairly.
The Army also showed some of its weapons at the event.
Everyone hopes this teamwork will create real solutions to protect the nation.
IIM Indore and the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) of the Indian Army organized Rashtriya Kartavya 2.0, a joint programme to develop AI solutions for national security challenges.
The programme was inaugurated by IIM Indore Director Prof. Himanshu Rai alongside Major General Gautam Mahajan, Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor of MCTE.
Prof. Rai emphasized that AI must remain guided by human judgement, ethics and accountability, and that collaboration should focus on solving important national challenges.
Sessions covered the evolution of warfare, military management practices, logistics, resource utilisation, decision-making and technology adoption.
A technology session showcased AI applications in defence, including supply chain mapping, AI-based traffic management and health monitoring systems for armoured vehicles, along with an Indian Army weapon display.
