Government distributes ₹8.33 crore to Edula Reservoir displaced residents

A village called Bandaravipakula was submerged because of the Edula Reservoir project.

This displaced people from their homes and farmland.

Government officials gave compensation cheques to 125 people.

The cheques together were worth ₹8.33 crore.

Some people did not receive cheques yet because of problems such as a beneficiary’s death or bank-account details.

Officials said those payments would be provided soon.

They also promised houses, roads, electricity, water facilities, and jobs for eligible families and young people.

Leaders asked families to use the money carefully for their future.
