India’s Flexible Workspace Leasing Hits Record Half-Year High
Flexible workspace companies rent offices and desks that businesses can use more easily.
In the first half of 2026, many more companies chose these spaces in India.
They rented 191,306 seats across eight major cities.
This was 68.4% more than in the same period the year before.
The companies also leased a record amount of office space.
Global capability centres were the biggest group using these workspaces.
Bengaluru had the most leased seats, but Hyderabad grew much faster.
Ahmedabad recorded the biggest percentage increase, although it started from a smaller base.
Flexible workspace operators leased 191,306 seats across India’s top eight cities in H1 2026, up 68.4% year on year.
Operators recorded 8.4 million square feet of gross leasing volume, the segment’s highest-ever half-yearly total.
Flexible workspaces represented nearly 20% of India’s approximately 43 million square feet of overall office leasing.
Global capability centres accounted for 44% of flex-space seat leases, up from 37% in 2025.
Bengaluru remained the largest market, while Hyderabad’s seat leasing grew 170.8% and Ahmedabad’s rose 570.3% year on year.
