India’s Flexible Workspace Leasing Surges 68.4% in H1 2026
Flexible workspace companies rent offices and desks that businesses can use more easily.
In the first half of 2026, these companies leased 191,306 seats in India’s eight biggest cities.
This was 68.4% more than in the same period a year earlier.
They also leased a record amount of office space.
Flexible offices made up almost one-fifth of all office leasing during the period.
Global capability centres were the biggest source of demand.
Bengaluru had the most seats leased, while Ahmedabad had the fastest percentage growth.
Businesses are choosing these workplaces because they can expand, change, and start operations more quickly.
Flexible workspace operators leased 191,306 seats across India’s top eight cities in H1 2026, up 68.4% year on year.
Operators recorded 8.4 million square feet of gross leasing volume, a record half-yearly figure and 55% annual increase.
Flex operators represented nearly 20% of India’s approximately 43 million square feet of office leasing, compared with 13% in H1 2025.
Global capability centres accounted for 44% of flex-seat leasing, up from 37% in 2025.
Bengaluru led seat uptake, while Ahmedabad posted the fastest growth and Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Delhi-NCR also recorded strong gains.
