Israel Suspended from Astronomy Olympiad Over Palestine Actions
‘Swapping Einstein’s theories for Hamas’?’ Israel fumes at being banned from astronomy Olympiad · theprint.in

Imagine a big science contest for high school students about stars and planets called the IOAA.

This year, it was in India.

Scientists from all over voted to not let Israel send a team to the contest anymore.

They did this because some people think Israel isn't following the rules, especially when it comes to students from Palestine.

Even though Israel could still compete individually, it was not allowed to have an official team representing their country.

This is similar to when countries like Russia were not allowed in the Olympics because of conflicts.

The scientists wanted Israel to change its actions before they could join again.
