CWPL Gives Women Cricketers a Stage for Bigger Dreams
The Chinar Women’s Premier League was a cricket tournament for women players from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
It was held in Baramulla for eight days.
Twelve teams took part in the competition.
Anantnag Rebels won the final against Shopian Harvesters by 30 runs.
Younger players played alongside cricketers with more experience.
This helped them learn how to compete at a higher level.
The tournament also showed girls and families that women can have a future in cricket.
Major General Manoj Joshi attended the closing ceremony to encourage the players.
Anantnag Rebels won the Chinar Women’s Premier League 2026 title by defeating Shopian Harvesters by 30 runs.
The eight-day tournament in Baramulla brought together 12 teams from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
The field included 10 district teams from Kashmir alongside regional teams representing Jammu and Ladakh.
The league featured one internationally represented player, six senior Ranji Trophy or state-level players, four Under-23 players and two Under-19 players.
The tournament aimed to connect grassroots women’s cricket with higher-level competition and inspire more girls to play.
