IEX Electricity Trading Reaches Record August Volume, Green Market Rises

The total amount traded was 13,938 million units, which was 20.2% higher than a year earlier.

India also used much more electricity during the month.

More demand caused more buyers to place orders in the Day-Ahead Market.

Trading increased in the Day-Ahead, Real-Time, and Term-Ahead markets.

Trading of greener electricity also grew by 17.3%.

However, trading of Renewable Energy Certificates fell sharply because fewer participants took part.

The exchange held two certificate trading sessions in August.
