India’s Keyaa Banerji Wins Silver at Junior Powerlifting Worlds

Keyaa Banerji is an Indian powerlifter.

She competed in the junior 47kg event.

The competition took place in South Africa.

Keyaa lifted 140 kilograms altogether.

Her lifts included a 90-kilogram squat and a 50-kilogram bench press.

This earned her the silver medal.

Ines Herbaux of France won gold with 165 kilograms.

Blathnaid O’Dwyer of Ireland won bronze with the same total as Keyaa.

Keyaa was 21 years old and lifted about three times her body weight.
