Three Detained for Killing Open Jail Inmate in Jaipur
A man named Gangasahay Kumawat was staying in an open jail in Jaipur, a city in India.
An open jail is a place where some prisoners can live with more freedom.
He was in jail because he had been found guilty of killing another man, Mahendra Gurjar.
One evening, while he was on Dhawas Road, someone shot and killed him.
The police began investigating right away by watching CCTV footage and questioning suspects.
They took three people into custody for the shooting.
The police think Mahendra Gurjar's son, named Ayush, paid two friends to do the killing.
They believe Ayush wanted revenge for his father's death.
Ayush reportedly left for Nepal, while the three detained people are still being questioned.
Three people have been detained by Jaipur Police over the killing of Gangasahay Kumawat, an inmate of Sanganer open jail.
Kumawat was shot dead on Wednesday evening on Dhawas Road in the Karni Vihar area.
He was serving a sentence for the murder of Mahendra Gurjar.
Police said Ayush, Mahendra Gurjar's son, allegedly hired Sonu Rajak and Amit Rana to kill Kumawat and reportedly fled to Nepal.
Kanhaiya Gurjar allegedly provided weapons to the accused, and police suspect the murder was carried out over an old enmity.
