Open jail inmate shot dead in Jaipur; manhunt launched
A man who lived at a special low-security jail called an open jail was shot while walking back to it.
His name was Gangasahay Kumawat and he was 45 years old.
Two men on a scooter came up to him and fired a gun three times.
One bullet hit his head and he died.
This happened in a neighborhood in the city of Jaipur, India.
It was around 5 o'clock in the evening on a Wednesday.
Gangasahay was in jail because he had been found guilty of a murder in 2018.
The person he was convicted of killing was named Mahendra Gurjar.
Police do not yet know why someone wanted to hurt him, and they are now searching for the two men who rode away on the scooter.

The motive is not immediately known, and police from multiple stations have launched a manhunt for the shooters.
