India-Vietnam Coast Guards Deepen Cooperation at Seventh Meeting
India and Vietnam have coast guards that help protect people and the ocean.
Their coast guards held their seventh important meeting in Chennai.
Paramesh Sivamani led the Indian side, while Major General Luong Dinh Hung led the Vietnamese side.
They discussed rescuing people at sea and enforcing maritime laws.
They also talked about responding to marine pollution and improving training.

Both sides reviewed professional exchanges, ship visits and other bilateral engagements while reaffirming the importance of training and sharing best practices.
The SAHYOG–HOPTAC joint exercise is scheduled at sea for 27 August 2026 to improve coordination and exchange operational practices.
