NCB Finds Drug Syndicates Using Digital Platforms for Trafficking

Drug traffickers in India are using phone apps and the internet to do their illegal work.

The traffickers use apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, Snapchat, Zangi and Signal.

They use these apps to plan how to buy drugs, move them, hide them and sell them.

A government minister told India's parliament about this discovery.

The government is now taking steps to stop this kind of crime.

It has hired computer experts to find illegal drug deals on the hidden part of the internet called the darknet.

They also want to investigate payments made with digital money called cryptocurrency.

Police officers are being trained with help from American drug experts and an Indian university.

This training will help them catch criminals who use technology to sell drugs.
