Maharashtra to honor 106 martyrs on new secretariat building

A long time ago, many people in India wanted their own state called Maharashtra.

Some brave people, called martyrs, gave their lives to make this happen.

Now, the leader of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, wants to remember them.

He said their names should be put on a big new government building.

This building used to belong to an airline called Air India.

It is being fixed up to be used by the government.

Another leader, Ashish Shelar, asked for this honor.

He said these 106 people are very important in the state's history.

Putting their names on the building is a way to say thank you.

It will help people remember them for a long time.
