Air India building to honour 106 Samyukta Maharashtra martyrs

A very famous tall building in Mumbai used to be the home of Air India, the country's airline.

People knew it by its fancy marble walls and the statue of JRD Tata.

Now, the Maharashtra government has bought that building.

The government paid a lot of money, 1,601 crore rupees, to own it.

After buying it, they took down the Air India signs from the outside.

The statue of JRD Tata was moved to a different office.

The building will now show the names of 106 brave people who fought for the state of Maharashtra long ago.

These people were part of a movement called Samyukta Maharashtra.

The Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, asked his office to start putting the names on the building.

It is a way to remember and honour those people.
