BJP Reshuffles State Leadership Ahead of Assembly Polls

The BJP has changed which senior leaders are responsible for different parts of India.

These leaders are called in-charges and co-in-charges.

The party made appointments for all 28 states and eight Union territories.

Vinod Tawde will oversee the BJP's work in Uttar Pradesh.

Smriti Irani and Ram Madhav were given responsibility for several other states.

Some states, including Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, Goa and Chhattisgarh, are due to hold assembly elections next year.

The BJP also changed the leaders managing its media and social media work.

The new assignments began immediately.
