Odisha Chief Minister Unveils Rs 960 Crore Sambalpur Projects
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced many development projects in Sambalpur.
Their total value is about Rs 960 crore.
Fifteen projects were opened for use, while work formally began on 35 others.
The projects include healthcare, roads, sports facilities, rural development and irrigation.
One large irrigation project is expected to cost Rs 220.56 crore.
Majhi said western Odisha is receiving attention from the state government.
He also mentioned large planned investments by Hindalco and JSW-JFE Steel.
He said Odisha wants to become a much larger economy in the coming decades.
Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled projects worth about Rs 960 crore in Sambalpur on Wednesday.
The package includes 15 inaugurated projects worth Rs 133.47 crore and 35 projects receiving foundation stones worth Rs 825.83 crore.
The projects cover health, rural development, sports, roads, buildings and water resources.
Water projects include a Rs 220.56 crore mega lift irrigation scheme and minor irrigation projects worth Rs 8.88 crore.
Majhi said projects worth around Rs 1,910 crore had been undertaken in Sambalpur over the past year and highlighted major industrial investments in the region.
