Amazon’s Zoox Robotaxis Begin Road Operations Amid Rider Unease

Amazon has a company called Zoox that makes cars that drive themselves.

These cars are shaped differently from regular cars and do not have human drivers.

Zoox currently has about 100 vehicles.

The vehicles are built at a large factory in Hayward, California.

That factory could eventually make as many as 10,000 robotaxis each year.

A Zoox ride costs about as much as a comfort ride from other ride-sharing companies.

Some riders feel nervous because nobody is driving the car.

One rider said he became more comfortable after a few minutes and thought the experience was exciting.
