Three Maharashtra Wrestlers Earn U23 World Championship Berths
Three women wrestlers from Maharashtra have been chosen to represent India.
This is the first time three Maharashtra wrestlers have made the Indian team for these under-23 world championships.
Vaishnavi Patil won the 65-kilogram trial match.
Ahilya Shinde won the 55-kilogram trial.
Amruta Pujari won the 72-kilogram trial.
The trials took place at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium.
The world championships will happen in Las Vegas, United States, from October 12 to 18.
The wrestlers hope their success will encourage more girls and coaches in Maharashtra to take up wrestling.
