Hyderabad Selected for Centre’s PRAGATI-50 Urban Cleanliness Initiative
The government has chosen Hyderabad for a major cleanliness programme.
The programme is called PRAGATI-50.
It includes 50 cities in 24 states and Union Territories.
The goal is to make these cities completely clean.
The plan includes better garbage collection and solid-waste processing.
It also focuses on managing used water and improving sanitation.
Hyderabad’s three municipal bodies will work together on the effort.
People living in the city are also expected to participate.

It aims for 100% cleanliness through garbage-free cities, waste processing and used-water management.
Hyderabad’s three civic bodies—GHMC, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation—will participate.
Selected cities must show sustained improvements in sanitation, visible cleanliness and citizen participation.
