Tripura militant groups call off highway, rail blockade after assurance

A long time ago, some people in a place called Tripura were part of groups that used weapons.

These groups wanted the government to help them start new lives, which is called rehabilitation.

They were upset because they felt not enough was being done for them.

So they planned to stop cars, buses, and trains on a certain day, which would make it hard for people to travel.

The leaders decided to cancel the big protest so people could travel peacefully, especially before India's Independence Day celebration.

A top government leader was away in another city, but the leaders were told a meeting would happen soon after he returned.

So everyone agreed to talk instead of blocking roads and trains.
