IISc Bengaluru to Accept JoSAA Counselling for BTech Admissions in 2026
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru is changing how it admits students to its BTech program.
Starting in 2026, students can apply through JoSAA counselling, which uses JEE Advanced ranks.
This is the same process used by many other top engineering schools in India.
The JEE Advanced exam will be held on May 17, 2026, and is conducted by IIT Roorkee.
IISc is a very famous and highly ranked university, both in India and worldwide.
It has been ranked 96th globally for Computer Science and has consistently been in the top two positions in India's NIRF rankings.
Before 2026, IISc had its own admission process, but now it will use JoSAA to make things simpler for students.
IISc Bengaluru will accept BTech admissions through JoSAA Counselling 2026 based on JEE Advanced ranks.
JEE Advanced 2026 will be conducted by IIT Roorkee on May 17, 2026, with two papers.
JoSAA counselling is the online seat allocation process for 127 premier engineering institutes, including IITs, NITs, and IIITs.
IISc Bengaluru is globally recognized, ranked 96th in Computer Science by Times Higher Education and consistently in the top two in NIRF rankings.
From 2026 onwards, BTech admissions at IISc will be entirely through JoSAA counselling, starting on June 2, 2026.
