Man wanted for thefts held in Surat; 44-lakh valuables recovered
A man in India was caught by police because he was suspected of stealing from people's homes.
His name is Kamaljeetsingh Bangu and he is 26 years old.
Police stopped him at a checkpoint in a city called Surat.
They found lots of stolen things with him, like gold jewelry, cash, a phone and two watches.
The stolen things were worth more than 44 lakh rupees, which is a very big amount of money.
Police think the items came from six different break-in cases in Mumbai.
The man also said he broke into two locked homes in a housing society.
He is in trouble for seven different crimes, including burglary and stealing.
He will be taken back to Mumbai so police there can keep investigating.
Now he has to answer for what he did.

The recovered items are linked to six previously undetected house-breaking cases registered at Mumbai's MHB Colony Police Station.
Bangu confessed to carrying out thefts at two locked homes in a housing society under MHB Colony Police Station jurisdiction.
He faces seven FIRs for offences including house-breaking, burglary, theft and house trespass, and will be handed over to Mumbai police.
