Unverified Israeli Iran Threat Warnings Prompted Secret Trump Jet Switch

President Trump is the leader of the United States, and he has a special team called the Secret Service that keeps him safe.

Last month he visited Turkey for a big meeting called the NATO summit, where leaders from many countries talk about keeping the world safe.

While he was there, Israel told American spies that Iran might try to hurt the president.

Israel said Iran could shoot a rocket at the president's plane, called Air Force One, or hurt him with a sniper or a knife.

Many American spies could not confirm these warnings and thought the information was weak.

Police in Turkey also looked into it and found no evidence of a real plan.

The Secret Service decided to be extra careful anyway and secretly moved President Trump to a different, smaller military plane for his flight home.

The Washington Post reported that he was even sneaked onto the new plane with the help of a catering cart.

Mr. Rubio stayed on the old plane, while the president said he was just following the Secret Service's instructions.
