Gurajada Apparao Celebrated for Advancing Social Reform and Awareness

People in Vijayawada remembered the Telugu writer Gurajada Apparao on his birth anniversary.

Government officials placed flowers before his portrait at the Collectorate.

Congress members also held a separate celebration at the State Congress office.

Speakers said Gurajada used writing to question unfair treatment and harmful social practices.

They said he wrote about social, economic and women’s issues.

His message said that a country is made of its people, not only its land.

Officials said his ideas are still useful today.

One leader suggested teaching more of Gurajada’s writings in schools.

Artists also performed songs about his life and work.
