India Continues Nepal Rescue as 275 Nationals Remain Missing
India is trying to find 275 citizens who are still unaccounted for in Nepal.
So far, 166 Indians have been rescued.
Another 1,907 Indians safely entered Nepal from China.
India has sent food and other relief supplies weighing 95 tonnes.
It has also sent rescue experts, forensic experts and medical workers.
Nepal asked India for medical kits and Bailey bridges, so India is preparing more help.
The Indian government said it is working closely with Nepal to support the rescue effort.
The same briefing also covered climate change, the Ukraine war and a major bridge project in the Maldives.
India said 275 nationals remain unaccounted for in Nepal while rescue and relief operations continue.
A total of 166 Indians have been rescued, while 1,907 crossed from China into Nepal safely.
India has sent 95 tonnes of relief supplies and deployed 54 personnel, including rescue, forensic and medical experts.
At Nepal’s request, India is preparing to send medical kits and Bailey bridges.
The MEA also addressed climate responsibility, Ukraine diplomacy, energy purchases and progress on the Maldives connectivity project.
