Jackie, beloved Big Bear bald eagle, dies at 14

There was a bald eagle named Jackie who lived in a place called Big Bear Valley in California.

She became famous all around the world because people could watch her on livestream cameras.

Jackie built a nest with her friend, another eagle named Shadow, and raised baby eagles.

She was 14 years old, which is quite old for a wild eagle.

Jackie got very sick, so animal doctors at a special bird hospital took care of her.

For more than three weeks, they gave her oxygen and watched over her all day and night.

Sadly, she did not get better and died in the early morning of August 10.

Jackie was one of the first bald eagles ever hatched in Big Bear Valley, and her story showed how bald eagles are making a comeback.

Many people who watched her are sad that she is gone.
