Two arrested with 2.85 quintals cannabis worth Rs 1.5 crore
Police in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, arrested two men accused of moving cannabis between states.
Officers said they found 2.85 quintals of cannabis inside their vehicle.
The cannabis was packed into 195 packets and was estimated to be worth about Rs 1.5 crore.
Police said the men were stopped after the driver tried to escape a vehicle check.
The accused were identified as Umesh Ahirwar and Mahipal.
Both men are from Mahoba and are 23 years old.
Police said they had been asked to carry the cannabis from Odisha to Mahoba.
They allegedly received Rs 20,000 each for every trip.
Police also seized the vehicle and two phones.

The accused were identified as 23-year-old Umesh Ahirwar and Mahipal, both from Mahoba.
Police also seized a Mahindra XUV, two mobile phones, and a vehicle displaying a fake registration number.
