Police said 21-year-old Dorababu allegedly slit his mother Udayashree’s throat after an argument over her alleged Instagram relationship.
The incident occurred Thursday morning at the family’s home in Balajinagar, Kazipet’s 47th division.
Family members said Udayashree had met a man from Karimnagar district through Instagram about four years ago.
Dorababu allegedly locked his mother in a bedroom, argued with her, and used a knife kept in the room.
Police and forensic teams inspected the scene and launched a search for Dorababu, who reportedly fled.
