Meghalaya Probes Two Vehicle Attacks Near Police Camp
Police in Meghalaya are investigating two separate vehicle fires and attacks.
In one incident, a car belonging to an Assam Police worker burned near a police camp.
This happened at Mawsikar village in West Khasi Hills early on August 26.
Investigators have not yet found materials showing how the fire started.
In another incident, masked people stopped a vehicle used by Shree Cement workers.
They threw a petrol bomb at it near Lad Jarain in East Jaintia Hills.
The four people inside got out safely, and police are looking for the attackers.
A Hyundai i10 belonging to an Assam Police personnel was found burnt near the Mawsikar Assam camp in West Khasi Hills.
The car reportedly caught fire around 4:00 AM on August 26 at Mawsikar village.
Police found no incendiary materials or suspicious items during an initial search, and no FIR had been filed at Langpih BOP.
A day earlier, masked attackers threw a petrol bomb at a Shree Cement-hired vehicle near Lad Jarain in East Jaintia Hills.
The vehicle’s three employees and driver escaped unharmed; police registered a case and began searching for the attackers.
