Family Rift Over Renewed Contact Preceded Khawalya Mountain Deaths

A couple and their 19-year-old son died after falling from Khawalya mountain.

The incident was first linked partly to a disagreement involving a mobile phone.

Investigators later learned that there may have been other family problems too.

Muralidhar had started speaking to his parents and sisters again after about 17 years.

This reportedly caused disagreements between him, his wife Sangeeta and their son Kunal.

Muralidhar had also been living separately from them for about a month.

Relatives from both families argued at the hospital after the deaths.

Later, both families travelled together to immerse the ashes in the Godavari River.
