Mumbai Police Arrest Two Decades-Long Absconders in Separate Cases
Mumbai Police arrested two men who had been wanted for many years.
One man, Suresh Chander Adagale, is accused of killing a colleague in 1986.
He was released on bail but stopped attending court and disappeared.
Police later found him in Ranjangaon, Pune, allegedly living under a false identity.
The other man, Omprakash Lalta Pasi, is accused of hitting a cricket umpire with a bat in 1990.
The umpire was seriously injured after Pasi was declared out during a match.
Pasi allegedly avoided arrest by changing his address and contact details.
Police eventually traced and arrested him in Mira Road East, Thane, and both cases remain under legal investigation.
Sakinaka police arrested 59-year-old Suresh Chander Adagale in Ranjangaon on August 20 over an alleged 1986 murder.
Adagale was accused of killing a colleague at age 19, then stopped attending court after receiving bail and remained untraced for nearly 40 years.
Borivali police arrested 55-year-old Omprakash Lalta Pasi in Mira Road East over an alleged 1990 attack on a cricket umpire.
Pasi allegedly hit the umpire with a bat after being declared out, causing serious injuries, and was later declared a proclaimed offender.
Police used technical investigations, intelligence and information from former associates to locate both men after decades.
