Purkayastha's 99 leads Jorhat Stallions to eight-wicket win

A cricket game happened in Guwahati, India, as part of a tournament called the Assam Premier League.

One team, Jorhat Stallions, needed 171 runs to win, and their captain Swarupam Purkayastha scored 99 runs without getting out.

That was the highest score by any batter in the tournament so far.

His teammate Erik Roy also helped by scoring 41 runs quickly at the start.

The other team, Barak Legends, had batted first and scored 170 runs, with Bishal Saha making 71.

But near the end of their innings, they lost some wickets and slowed down.

Jorhat Stallions finished their chase with 10 balls to spare, winning by eight wickets.

Purkayastha hit 11 fours and four sixes to lead his team to victory.
