Secunderabad Prepares for Bonalu with Water, Buses, and Liquor Closures
The city of Secunderabad is getting ready for a big festival called Bonalu.
They set up six places to give out a lot of water to people who come to the temple.
A manager named Ashok Reddy told workers to make sure the drains don’t overflow.
The bus company TGSRTC ran 175 special buses to bring people to the temple.
The police closed some liquor shops early to keep everyone safe.
All these steps help make the festival safe and fun.
Six water distribution centers were set up, providing 8.5 lakh sachets and 25,000 250‑ml bottles for Bonalu devotees at Ujjaini Mahankali Temple.
HMWS&SB managing director Ashok Reddy ordered measures to prevent sewerage overflows on major roads and near the temple.
TGSRTC operated 175 special buses from multiple stations to the temple on Sunday, with further arrangements for Monday’s Rangam event.
Secunderabad city police closed liquor outlets in the Market and Gopalapuram limits of the Malkajgiri zone until 6 am on August 4.
The closures and transport measures were part of broader security and law‑and‑order arrangements for the annual Bonalu celebrations.
