Bonalu: Malkajgiri Police Order 24-Hour Closure of Liquor Outlets

Every year, people in Hyderabad enjoy a festival called Bonalu.

During the festival, the police work hard to keep everyone safe.

Many people come out to celebrate, so the city can get very crowded.

To help with security and crowd control, the police made a special rule.

Shops that sell alcohol, like wine shops and toddy shops, must close for 24 hours.

Restaurants connected to bars must also close during this time.

Some fancy hotels with bars and registered clubs are allowed to stay open.

The closure starts at 10 in the morning on August 9 and ends at 10 in the morning on August 10.

The police asked everyone to follow the rules and help make the Bonalu celebrations smooth and peaceful.
