Policeman Injured After Syringe Stabbing During Kozhikode Patrol
A young police officer was hurt while doing patrol duty in Kozhikode.
Police had been told that a clash was happening at Mananchira Square.
The officer arrived at about 7:40 p.m.
and saw six people there.
Two people ran away when they saw the police.
The officer asked the other four what they were carrying.
Police said one person held the officer and stabbed him with a syringe.
The group then ran away.
Other officers took the injured policeman to a hospital.
Adarsh K, 21, was injured while patrolling in Kozhikode on Saturday evening.
Police said they received information about a clash at Mananchira Square around 7:40 p.m.
Six people were reportedly assembled at the location in a suspicious manner.
Two suspects fled after seeing the uniformed police personnel, officials said.
One of the remaining suspects allegedly restrained Adarsh and stabbed him with a syringe before fleeing.
