Iran's Foreign Minister Says No Direct Talks with US

Two big countries, Iran and the United States, are not talking to each other directly.

When they want to share messages, they use other countries as go-betweens.

Iran's top diplomat for foreign affairs, Mr. Araghchi, said this on a Sunday.

He told Iran's state TV that Iran is not having direct talks with the US right now.

Some other countries are still trying to help the two sides start talking again.

Iran says it will only return to direct talks if the US stops breaking an agreement.

That agreement is a 14-point plan that the two countries signed in June.

So for now, the messages pass through middlemen instead of direct meetings.
