Pope Leo Announces Packed November Tour Across South America
Pope Leo is planning a long visit to three South American countries.
He will travel to Uruguay, Argentina and Peru in November.
The trip will last 11 days and include about 50 events.
He is expected to travel around 31,000 kilometers.
He will give 36 speeches during the tour.
He will visit a prison, celebrate Mass at a famous shrine and speak about Peru’s future.
Leo also plans to meet priests in Chiclayo, where he once worked as a bishop.
This will be his fifth trip outside Italy in 2026.
Pope Leo will visit Uruguay, Argentina and Peru from November 6 to November 17.
The 11-day, 10-city tour will cover about 31,000 kilometers and include roughly 50 events.
The pope is scheduled to deliver 36 speeches, including a meeting with Argentine President Javier Milei.
His itinerary includes a Buenos Aires prison visit, a Mass at Lujan shrine and an address in Lima.
Leo previously served in Peru and will dine with priests in Chiclayo, where he was bishop from 2015 to 2023.
