India-UAE Mountain Warfare Exercise Begins in Uttarakhand
India-UAE Joint Military Exercise Begins In Uttarakhand, Focus On Mountain Warfare · NDTV

Soldiers from India and the United Arab Emirates have started a joint training exercise in Uttarakhand.

It is called Exercise Mountain Guardian and focuses on working together in mountain areas.

There are 92 participants, split equally between the two armies.

Women officers and combatants from both countries are also taking part in specialist roles.

The exercise runs from October 5 to October 18.

The troops will practise planning, drills, firing, surveillance and using drones.

They will also train in rock climbing, obstacle courses and field exercises.

The countries say the training will help their armies share skills and build cooperation.
