Delhi Assembly Bill Seeks to Repeal Bed and Breakfast Act
Bill to repeal ‘B&B Act’ introduced in Delhi Assembly · theprint.in

In the city of Delhi, there are small places to stay called bed and breakfast homes, like tiny hotels.

A long time ago, in 2007, the city made a law to keep track of these homes.

In June, a very sad fire happened at one of these homes.

The fire was in a neighbourhood called Malviya Nagar, and it was so bad that 21 people died.

Some of those people were visitors from other countries.

After the fire, the city leaders decided the old law was not good enough.

So the person in charge of tourism, Kapil Mishra, brought a new rule to the Delhi Assembly on Friday.

The new rule says the old law should be removed.

The leaders will probably pass it on Monday.

The new rule also removes changes made to the law in 2010 and 2021.
