Kushner meets Hamas in Egypt amid Gaza plan opposition

Some important grown-ups are trying to make peace in a place called Gaza.

Jared Kushner, who is the American president's son-in-law, went to Egypt to talk to leaders of a group called Hamas.

They talked about Hamas giving up its weapons and helping to run Gaza peacefully.

Hamas said it would follow the peace plan.

But Israel's leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, does not like parts of the plan.

Many countries, like Egypt, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, said Israel should not block the peace plan.

Israel's party, Likud, said those countries are just trying to make Netanyahu look bad.

Even while people talk about peace, there are still some attacks and people getting hurt in Gaza.

Many people hope the talks will help stop the fighting.
