Hyderabad Prepares Extensive Arrangements for Friday’s Ganesh Idol Immersion
Hyderabad is getting ready for a large Ganesh idol immersion event on Friday.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, or GHMC, is working with other departments.
Officials expect about 77,687 idols to be immersed.
They have selected 39 lakes and ponds for the activity.
Cranes will help move the idols safely into the water.

Officials estimate that 77,687 Ganesh idols will be immersed, including 25,529 taller than five feet.
The civic body will deploy 110 static cranes and 170 mobile cranes at immersion sites.
Around 6,000 sweeping staff, 770 sanitation workers, and 136 Ganesh Action Teams will manage cleanliness.
Authorities installed 43,270 temporary lights and 287 mobile toilets along immersion points and procession routes.
