Four-Kilogram Hydroponic Weed Seized At Kochi Airport, Two Arrested
Customs officials found about four kilograms of hydroponic weed at Kochi airport.
They said the substance was worth about Rs 1.5 crore.
The passenger carrying it was Shakh Zaved Ali from Hyderabad.
He had traveled from Bangkok through Colombo.
Officials said he arrived on a Sri Lankan Airlines flight.
They later identified another passenger, Shivpratap Jaysing Sankpal.
Officials alleged that Sankpal helped Ali with the smuggling operation.
Both men were arrested.
Customs officials seized about four kilograms of hydroponic weed, or hybrid ganja, at Cochin International Airport.
The seized substance was valued at around Rs 1.5 crore.
Shakh Zaved Ali of Hyderabad arrived from Bangkok via Colombo on a Sri Lankan Airlines flight.
Officials alleged that Shivpratap Jaysing Sankpal helped Ali in the smuggling operation.
Both passengers were arrested after Sankpal was identified and apprehended during the investigation.
