A man in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, was badly hurt during an argument with his neighbour.

The argument was about replacing a damaged electricity cable.

Police said the neighbour’s grandson, Raja, allegedly shot Charan Singh with a country-made pistol.

Singh’s family tried to take him to a hospital in a pickup vehicle.

Police said Raja allegedly fired at the vehicle, so the family left it temporarily.

Singh was later taken to a health centre and referred to Saifai Medical College.

He died on the way there.

Police were searching for Raja and sent Singh’s body for a post-mortem examination.
