A man named Santosh Chowdhury was shot in north Kolkata after midnight on Sunday.

Police said the shooting happened near PK Tagore Ghat, also called PK Thakur Ghat in another report.

They identified a relative, Amit or Kartick Sonkar, known as “Khargosh,” as the alleged shooter.

Police said Sonkar came with other people and they fired several shots.

One bullet hit Chowdhury in the stomach.

People nearby took him to Medical College Kolkata.

Doctors said he was in stable condition, according to police.

Investigators believe a family dispute may have led to the shooting and are looking for the alleged attackers.
