Maharashtra Plans Statewide AYUSH Healthcare Expansion, Minister Says
Maharashtra wants more people to have access to AYUSH healthcare.
AYUSH includes systems such as Ayurveda and other traditional treatments.
Minister Prakash Abitkar announced the plan at an Ayurveda Day event in Mumbai.
He said these services should be available in both cities and villages.
The state already provides AYUSH services at more than 650 locations.
Officials also want people to use balanced diets, yoga and Ayurveda to stay healthy.
Three booklets about Ayurveda and healthy living were released.
The government said it wants people to trust AYUSH treatments while also improving coordination with modern medicine.
Maharashtra plans to strengthen and expand AYUSH healthcare services across urban and rural areas.
