Manipur CM Urges Harmony, Rejects Blaming Entire Communities

Manipur Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh spoke with artists in Imphal.

He said a whole community should not be blamed for the actions of a few people.

He described the crisis as involving the Meitei, Kuki and Naga communities.

Singh asked the Meitei community to help bring peace.

He recalled that Letzamang Haokip helped protect 120 Meitei workers during the early part of the crisis.

Singh said people need to rebuild trust and remove barriers between communities.

He said communities in Jiribam district live peacefully without mistrust.

He also said the government supports bringing the National Register of Citizens to Manipur.
