Studying Medicine Abroad: NEET Myths vs Practice Reality
Imagine you want to become a doctor and study in another country.
The university there may not ask you for a special Indian test called NEET.
But India has its own rules for its citizens who study medicine abroad.
If you are from India and get your doctor degree from another country on or after May 2018, you must still pass NEET.
Your NEET result works like a ticket that is good for three years.
After you finish studying abroad, you need to pass another exam to get a licence to be a doctor back home in India.
Soon, there may be one single big exam, called the National Exit Test, for doctors trained in India and abroad.
So NEET is not needed to get into a foreign university, but it matters a lot if you want to return to India to work as a doctor.
