The contraband was found in two vacuum-sealed transparent plastic packets containing green fruiting and flowering tops of the cannabis plant, described as hydroponic weed.
Sahu had arrived at CSMI Airport, Mumbai, from Bangkok when he was intercepted.
In his statement to Customs, Sahu admitted to smuggling drugs in lieu of quick and easy money.
