Bezos Earth Fund Commits $25 Million to Pacific Ocean Conservation
Jeff Bezos’s Earth Fund is giving more than $25 million to help protect the ocean around five Pacific island nations.
The projects cover a very large area of ocean.
They aim to help whales, sharks, sea turtles, coral reefs and fisheries.
They also support people whose food and jobs depend on the ocean.
The fund says its approach puts Pacific communities and leadership at the center of conservation.
Bezos started the fund in 2020 with a promise to commit $10 billion to climate and nature work.
So far, it says it has granted $2.4 billion.
